Being at the launch was one of my favourite nights of the year!

Charlie Banks Aside from your own smashing tunes, the choice of the other songs is spot on. The overall sound of the album is warm and inviting. Love it. Thanks! By the way, Cath’s & Malcolm’s contributions are great 👍

about

George Brainard Photograph - Austin Texas (www.georgebrainard.com )

Local Favourites is a brand new album from Tyneside based Shipcote & Friends. Half the songs were written by local artists we admire & Graham Shipcote wrote the rest. Most are locally themed too. So we have a couple of lesser-known tunes from the highly popular entertainer Martin Stephenson, whom was raised near Shippy in Washington T&W (Tracks 1 & 3). We have the Heaton hipster Rob Heron’s gypsy jazz ode to vino (Track 5) Mush Collective’s talented Nikki Rushton, who Graham has known since her “All Because” days & who’s also based in Newcastle’s cultural hub of Heaton (Track 9) Guitarist Davy Patton was a original local South Shields fixture with Bessie & the Zinc Buckets & wrote this tune for his Sour Mash Trio (Track 10) The bard of Longbenton Nev Clay, the most heartfelt of local songsters (Track 12) & finally a Stew Rickard poem set to music. Stew just lives up the road from Mr Clay in Benton. However, I don't think they know each other (Track 4).
Graham’s songs include local homage’s to Alec Glasgow (Track 7) his Mum (Track 2) & James Renforth (Track 11)
